InvestSMART Group Ltd (ASX:INV), one of Australia’s largest providers of automated investment advice, has taken robo-advice to a whole new level with the launch of a sophisticated mobile app that gives investors, even more, control over their investments.

More than 45,000 unique users managing close to 65,000 portfolios and around $15 billion of assets are already on InvestSMART’s online portfolio management platform, leveraging our automated investment advice services and research to actively manage their investments.

The new app takes that to another level by enabling users to construct, monitor and manage their investment assets on the go, leveraging InvestSMARTs state-of-the-art portfolio management tools, stock recommendations and analysis from Intelligent Investor, and broader wealth management advice from Eureka Report.

App users can see how their investments are performing and view news, research, alerts, and insights tailored to their investments. They also receive instant notifications on stock recommendations and ASX announcements.

“This app is a major advance in the automated investment advice tools currently available to investors,” said InvestSMART managing director and chief executive, Ron Hodge.

“We know from our extensive database, which contains portfolio data from thousands of Australian investors collectively holding billions of dollars of assets, that there is very strong demand for mobile automated investment advice. Importantly, they want integrated tools so they can access all the information they need from one central place."

“Providing users with the ability to track and manage their portfolio from their mobile device, and to harness InvestSMART’s stocks research and recommendations together with ASX data, creates a one-stop shop for investors and enables them to take quick and decisive action when required so their portfolio always remains well-balanced and in good financial health.”

InvestSMART's research team has a stellar track record. Earlier this month, an independent report from auditors Grant Thornton showed that Intelligent Investor’s stock recommendations had outperformed the All Ordinaries Accumulation Index by an average of 3.7% over each of the last 15 years.

Mr Hodge said that InvestSMART’S rapidly growing customer base, including retail investors, SMSF trustees and professionals such as financial planners, was strong evidence that good robo-advice tools are in demand.

ASIC announced last month that, with only about 20 per cent of adult Australians seeking personal advice, digital advice has the potential to be a convenient and low-cost option for financial planning,” he said.

“I couldn’t agree more. We are already seeing this and will continue to invest heavily in our online advice platforms, including our new app."

“By giving Australian investors the tools and information they need to stay in control of their investments at all times, we believe the new era of digital personal financial advice is not on the horizon but already here and firmly entrenched.”

The InvestSMART mobile app is available as a free download for Apple and Android devices.
