The GMP-grade Galidesivir production is being conducted by PI Health Sciences (PIHS), a global contract research, development, and manufacturing organization. This initiative is designed to scale production to late-stage development, transitioning Galidesivir from a development-stage asset to a potential biodefence product. With manufacturing underway, Island Pharmaceuticals is strategically positioned to advance additional biodefence and emerging infectious disease opportunities, including responses to recent Ebola outbreaks. The company has sufficient existing Galidesivir supply for planned dose optimization studies, and the GMP-grade product will facilitate future pivotal studies and regulatory submissions, aiming for FDA approval and procurement opportunities.
