JLL has hired CB Richard Ellis's top leasing and tenant representation operative in Shanghai, Tim O'Connor, to head its office leasing team in New South Wales. He will join the firm in January following a 10-year stint in Asia working with Savills and CBRE in Hong Kong and Shanghai. Mr O'Connor will join the national team, where Chris Gilbert has taken on the role of director of project leasing and development. He will work closely with David Bowden in Victoria.Architect earns gong for hospital designCORBETT Lyon, director of leading architectural practice Lyons, has won the 2010 Arts and Health Australia Award for Excellence in Architecture, Design and the Healthcare Environment for his work on the new Queensland Children's Hospital in Brisbane. Lyons is designing the QCH project with Conrad Gargett in Brisbane. The design moves away from a functionalist and medico-centric model to include art and cultural programs fixed artworks, sculpture, video and performing arts programs.GBCA appoints new directorsTHE Green Building Council of Australia appointed new directors at its annual meeting last week. They are: Darren Bilsborough, director of sustainability at Parsons Brinckerhoff; Fred Chaney, architect and director of Cox Architecture; Professor Ralph Horne, director of the Centre for Design at RMIT University; and Rod Leaver, Lend Lease Australia's chief executive. Mr Bilsborough and Mr Leaver were previously appointed as directors to fill casual vacancies, and were required to retire and renominate.
